Protecting our environment is everyone’s job, and it might be the most important one we have. From Earth Month to Clean Air Month, there are numerous opportunities throughout the year to help protect the only planet we’ve got. There’s never been a better or more important time to support nonprofits that support environmental sustainability and combat climate change.
How your company can celebrate Earth Month & Day
The following initiatives were curated by our team of social impact experts that execute thoughtful social impact efforts for our customers every day. Some of these initiatives are easy enough to accomplish internally, but for others, you will need to lean on a social impact program or team.

[2] Volunteering

Battle climate change
Invite your employees to attend a Climate Reality Project education session tailored to your organization. Presentations are held virtually and led by CRT volunteers. They feature information about climate science and the impacts of climate change. The presentations highlight current solutions, including advancements in renewable energy, smart climate policy, and more.
Plant a tree

Protect our oceans
Invite employees to an eye-opening film screening from Plastic Oceans. Their films and digital content inform, inspire, and incite action to affect change by focusing on the planet’s health and conservation and promoting a global movement to rethink plastic. Its projects, partnerships, and initiatives serve to change thinking and shift behavior by engaging and inspiring audiences.
A single volunteer event takes 20-30 hours to plan and execute. Learn how Percent Pledge saves your company that time by organizing customized volunteer events.
[3] Other ways to support the environment
Inspire your employees to get involved to spread support. No gesture is too small.
Hit the road
Leave the cars in the garage and organize an employee ride your bike to work day. And when they arrive, have some breakfast and coffee waiting to greet and reward them for doing something great for the planet.
Do what comes easy
If all you do is recycle, you’re already doing a lot. Create and promote an office recycling program and hold a recycling competition to kick it off.
Let’s get cleaning
Clean a beach. Clean a park. Do something good for the environment right in your backyard. Encourage your employees to spend a morning within their community. Contact your local park district for volunteer opportunities.
