Pride Month is always a time for celebration, and this year was no exception! We hosted a fantastic virtual Community Volunteer Event (CVE) that brought together our global community in a joyous, impactful celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. The best part? Our customers didn't have to worry about any of the planning—they just needed to show up and participate! Hosted by Percent Pledge, this event was a shining example of how we can unite for a common cause, make a real difference, and enjoy some amazing team bonding.
We kicked off the event with an enlightening session on the history of Pride Month. Thanks to SAGE, an amazing partner organization dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ elders, we learned so much about the importance of Pride and the incredible contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals throughout history. It was an eye-opening and heartwarming experience that set the perfect tone for the rest of the event.
Next, our volunteers got creative! Over 60 heartfelt messages were crafted for LGBTQ+ elders, including letters, video messages, and digital cards. These messages celebrated pride and expressed gratitude to the elders for their pivotal role in advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. The dedication and creativity of our volunteers shone through each message, reflecting their genuine support and admiration.
The energy during the event was nothing short of amazing. With uplifting music playing in the background, many volunteers couldn't help but sing and dance along. The virtual chat was buzzing with positivity as participants shared their stories and motivations for joining the event. It was a lively and joyous atmosphere that brought everyone together, no matter where they were in the world. It was also a fantastic team bonding experience, as everyone connected over a shared purpose and fun activities.
Our Pride Month CVE brought together over 30 companies and customers, with 83 volunteers from diverse locations contributing a total of 83 hours of service. This collective effort translated into an impressive $9,213 of in-kind value, showcasing the significant difference our community can make when united by a common cause. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their eagerness for future events and their appreciation for the well-organized and meaningful experience.
