Virtual Volunteer Event for Teams: Earth Day 2025 Case Study

14,426 Animals Identified. 300+ Employees Empowered. One Global Cause.

This Earth Day, something powerful happened—300+ employees from 60 different locations and companies came together to make a difference. And they did it all remotely.

Through one of Percent Pledge’s virtual volunteer opportunities for teams‍, employees joined forces to identify and classify over 14,426 animals captured on trail cameras—work that directly supports live environmental research.

For many, it was their first time volunteering virtually. For all, it was a tangible way to honor the planet and give back—together.

One Day. Two Sessions. Global Participation.

To accommodate teams worldwide, the event ran across two time zones:

• CET session for European-based teams
• EST session for North American-based teams
  

Both were fully facilitated, interactive, and designed to create a sense of connection—despite the distance. No experience required. Just curiosity and the desire to make an impact.

From 50 to 500: A Message from Percent Pledge

When we began offering virtual volunteer events last year, we were excited to see 50 people join.

This Earth Day, we had over 500 sign-ups—and more than 300 volunteers actively engaged in one day. That kind of growth proves what we’ve always believed: when you make it easy and meaningful, people show up.

We’re so grateful to our partners and participants—and we’re just getting started. These Community Volunteer Events will continue expanding globally, making impact more accessible for everyone, everywhere.
